Nothing left in the fiber
No optical brighteners, which exist only to stay in the fabric and fake the look of clean. That is the reason towels go stiff and carry a chemical note.
Six ingredients. No mystery. Root & Ridge laundry detergent is made the way your grandmother would have made it. Saponified coconut oil, water, borax, washing soda, lye, and fragrance oils for scent. That's it. No synthetic surfactants. No dyes. No...

Every bottle of Root & Ridge laundry detergent is made right here in Greenville, South Carolina, by American hands who take pride in their work. We believe what you use to care for your family should come from a place you can point to on a map, and ours is the Carolina foothills. Our commitment to local manufacturing is unwavering, and we'll keep building this brand on American soil, one small batch at a time.
Whenever we can, we source our ingredients, bottles, labels, and packaging from Carolina businesses first, and we only look further afield when we can't find what we need nearby. Every local purchase helps a neighbor keep their doors open, their people employed, and their craft alive. When you bring Root & Ridge into your home, you're supporting a whole network of Upstate makers, growers, and suppliers working together to keep our local economy strong.
Root & Ridge uses only natural fragrances drawn from essential oils, steam-distilled and cold-pressed from plants rather than built in a lab. Every note comes from botanicals chosen to bring the feeling of a mountain morning into your home. No synthetic perfumes, no phthalates, and no mystery "fragrance" on the label.
Root & Ridge Laundry Detergent starts with coconut. Its cleaning power is derived from coconut oil, so what lifts the dirt from your clothes comes from a plant rather than a petrochemical plant. Made in small batches here in Greenville, South Carolina, and designed to work as hard as it is gentle on your fabrics. Cleaner laundry, simpler ingredients, and a label you can actually read.

No optical brighteners, which exist only to stay in the fabric and fake the look of clean. That is the reason towels go stiff and carry a chemical note.
The surfactants doing the actual cleaning come from plant sources rather than the petroleum chemistry that fills most of the laundry aisle.
Honeysuckle or Fresh Linen. Real fragrance inputs rather than a synthetic blend engineered to cling. Present on the fabric, never loud in the room.
Every ingredient with its function in plain language, and an honest note wherever something is still being confirmed. Most of this category publishes nothing.
A scent guarantee rather than a returns policy. If the scent is not right we refund you and you do not ship anything back.

The towels are the tell. Six weeks in and they still come out soft instead of that faintly crunchy thing they used to do.
I bought it for the scent and stayed for the dose. Half an ounce felt like a typo until I ran a full load of gym kit through it.
Honest note, it is not the cheapest per wash. I kept it anyway because the Fresh Linen is genuinely lovely and it lasts in the drawer.

64, at the recommended half ounce dose. For a household running five loads per week, that is roughly three months of laundry.
Yes. Detergent works up to the point the cleaning agents are saturated, and past that the excess just stays in the fabric. For larger or dirtier loads, increase the dose to 1oz.
Honeysuckle is bright and green, closer to the flower on the stem than to a candle. Fresh Linen is cleaner and cooler, the smell of a sheet dried outside. Both use the same formula underneath.
[INSERT VERIFIED ANSWER] HE, front loader, top loader, cold water and hard water performance all need confirming before launch.
[INSERT VERIFIED ANSWER] Do not publish a skin claim without substantiation. If dermatological testing has not been done, answer by stating what the formula excludes instead.
